Looking for someone? This pa s t ~onth of winter weathe r the t hing to

I t involved raking off s now, shoveli ng off snow to prevent the roof fro~
caving in, cutting through ice under the snow---getting it all on the·
ground , on top of the snow , at least. Then what? In some cases it took
a backhoe t o move the snow away fro;:1 the houses , even loading it up and
hauling it off by the truckl oad, du:::ping i t in vacant l ots and where
ever. Snowplows kept busy keeping the s treets open which in turn bl ocked
driveways as the cold weather kept t he !!!OU?1tains of snow in good shaoe .
.
Then Febr uary and ri sini; te:::1peratures into the l~Os , sunshine , r.:el t -1ng snows and s01:-ie of those mounds of snow had cars u:ide r ther:: .
